Right off the bat I will say that I am picking Pittsburgh to win Super Bowl XLIII over Arizona. They have the best defense in the NFL and were ranked #1 in just about every defensive statistical category. I do think Arizona have the better offense without a doubt behind Kurt Warner’s veteran leadership and he has so many weapons in receivers Larry Fitzgerald, Anquan Boldin, and Steve Breaston but I just think Pittsburgh’s D is too tough. I hope I am wrong and Arizona pulls it out.

If Pittsburgh dominates this game then I am really going to hate watching them win their second Super Bowl in the past 4 years. I still remember Bill Cowher mocking the Bengals “Who Dey” chant back in 2006 (in the 05′ AFC Wild Card playoffs) after defeating Cincinnati in a game in which Carson Palmer was tragically knocked out early in the first quarter.

Is this class?

I think not.

Also, when I see Hines Ward play I always think about his hit on Bengals rookie linebacker Keith Rivers earlier this past season. He was not fined on a play that appeared to me like he lead with his head (which is not legal), he also celebrated after the hit. There is never an acceptable reason for a player to lead with his head when blocking. If the hit was made on a QB Hines definitely would have been fined.

Is this dirty?

I think so.
(For an example of how to make a proper hit click here.)

If Arizona happens to upset Pittsburgh in Super Bowl XLIII I would love to see Larry Fitzgerald get his hands on a Terrible Towel (the symbol of this evil empire) and clean his cleats off like Bengals receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh did a few years ago.

Was this called for?

Most definitely!

Also if the reasons mentioned above are not enough for you to root for Arizona in this years Super Bowl then you should be aware that Pittsburgh’s mascot is named Steely McBeam.

I know I know, I have lost all credibility with making picks in the playoffs as I picked all 4

I know I know, I have lost all credibility with making picks in the playoffs as I picked all 4 games incorrectly last week. Do not keep reading this, go do something else with your time, seriously. Although I did read that NFL analyst Pat Kirwan recently said “This has been one of the toughest postseasons to analyze and predict the winners.” I definitely agree with that statement. Below are my picks for this weekends Championship Round.

Sunday, January 18th, 2009 games:

Philadelphia at Arizona
The Eagles travel to Arizona to take on the Cardinals in this years NFC Championship game, this game should include lots of scoring and be a fun fast-paced game to watch. I think the key to this game will be whether Philly are able to put pressure on Kurt Warner which cause him to slip up and make mistakes throwing the ball. I also think a major key will be how well Arizona controls Brian Westbrook, he has been dinged up of late but is still someone who needs to be watched closely. I give Arizona the edge in this game since they will have a ton of emotion and support from the hometown fans.
My Pick: Arizona

Baltimore at Pittsburgh
I must say, I am really looking forward to watching this game and I would get a lot of satisfaction personally if Baltimore were to win. To put it mildly, Nate don’t like the Steelers! I think there are several keys to this game for Baltimore, one is how well rookie quarterback Joe Flacco plays against the best defense in the NFL. It will be crucial for him to get solid protection and not make mistakes when the pressure comes. I see Baltimore continuing to go run-heavy with the play calling however. I think field position will be huge in this game, I give Baltimore the edge on special teams. I am picking Pittsburgh to win this game though for several reasons, 1) they are at home, 2) since I have been picking my games incorrectly more often in the playoffs I figured I would go with the percentages and pick Pittsburgh to win in hopes that I am wrong, 3) they have the best defense in the NFL, and 4) I can see a Pittsburgh vs Arizona Super Bowl match up as it would be hyped up by Arizona coach Ken Whisenhunt taking on his former team.
My Pick: Pittsburgh

Week 1 – 8 correct and 7 incorrect. (15 games)
Week 2 – 9 correct and 6 incorrect. (15 games)
Week 3 – 9 correct and 7 incorrect. (16 games)
Week 4 – 5 correct and 8 incorrect. (13 games)
Week 5 – 9 correct and 5 incorrect. (14 games)
Week 6 – 8 correct and 6 incorrect. (14 games)
Week 7 – 10 correct and 4 incorrect. (14 games)
Week 8 – Did not make picks.
Week 9 – Did not make picks.
Week 10 – 13 correct and 1 incorrect. (14 games)
Week 11 – 11 correct and 4 incorrect. (15 games)
Week 12 – 10 correct and 5 incorrect. (15 games)
Week 13 – 7 correct and 6 incorrect. (13 games)
Week 14 – Did not make picks.
Week 15 – 10 correct and 5 incorrect (15 games)
Week 16 – 7 correct and 8 incorrect (15 games)
Week 17 – 10 correct and 6 incorrect (16 games)
Wild Card Round – 1 correct, 3 incorrect (4 games)
Divisional Round – 0 correct, 4 incorrect (4 games)

My overall record after 17 weeks: 126-78

I had a bad first week picking games during the playoffs last week as I picked 3 out of 4 games incorrectly. It’s a whole new ball game now my friends. Below are my picks for this weekends Divisional Round.

Saturday, January 10th, 2009 games:

Baltimore at Tennessee
The Ravens crushed Miami last week in their Wild Card game 27-9 while Tennessee had the week off. I think Baltimore have the better defense while Tennessee have a better overall offensive unit. This will be a defensive slugfest. I think the Titans somehow pull it off and advance to the next round.
My Pick: Tennessee

Arizona at Carolina
Arizona are coming off a nice win last week in the Wild Card round as they beat Atlanta 30-24 while Carolina had a buy. I have a hard time foreseeing a win here for Arizona as Carolina have a stronger D and better run game. Arizona must run the ball as well or better than they did last week and get another solid game from Warner to have a chance. I think the Panthers will win by double digits.
My Pick: Carolina

Sunday, January 11th, 2009 games:

Philadelphia at N.Y. Giants
Philly took care of the Vikings last week 26-14 while the Giants were off. I think the Giants will do what they do in this game, run the ball well and consistently and put pressure on the QB. The Eagles will have to avoid turnovers and not give up the big play to have a shot. I like the defending champs at home.
My Pick: N.Y. Giants

San Diego at Pittsburgh
San Diego got by Indianapolis at home last week in the Wild Card Round winning 23-17 in overtime while Pittsburgh were off. I would LOVE to see the Chargers pull this one out and I am going to go on a limb and pick them to upset the Steelers even without LaDanian Tomlinson. San Diego have been playing extremely well of late and the last time these two teams played the Steelers won 11-10 as they snuck by San Diego in the 4th qtr. Go Chargers!
My Pick: San Diego

My overall record after 17 weeks: 126-78
My overall playoff record: 1-3

The NFL playoffs begin this weekend and I must say, I am rather excited about it. Below are my picks for this fun filled Wild Card weekend!

Saturday, January 3rd, 2009 games:

Indianapolis at San Diego
The Colts finished the regular season with a record of 12-4 and second within their division behind the Titans. San Diego finished with a record of 8-8 which was good enough to win the AFC West as they finished the season by winning their final 4 games. I like, want, and think the Colts will win this game on the road although I think it will be a close & exciting game.
My Pick: Indianapolis

Atlanta at Arizona
It was good to see both of these teams make the playoffs and have such great seasons. The Falcons finished the regular season with an 11-5 record and 2nd place finish in the NFC South. Arizona come in as division winners but finished the season with a 9-7 record and they only won 2 out of their final 5 games. This should also be an exciting game to watch, I like Atlanta to win this one as I think their running game behind Michael Turner & Jerious Norwood will be the difference maker. Arizona do not have much of a running game and if Atlanta can force Warner into making a few turnovers I see Matt Ryan playing mistake free and Atlanta winning the time of possession battle.
My Pick: Atlanta

Sunday, January 4th, 2009 games:

Baltimore at Miami
Baltimore come to Miami after finishing the regular season with a record of 11-5 and 2nd place finish in the AFC North. Miami had an enormously successful season after last years 1-15 season, they finished by winning the AFC East with an 11-5 record. I think Baltimore will win this game because they have a tough veteran defense that will have their way in this game. I will be surprised if Chad Pennington is able to do much and I think he will be under heavy pressure early in this game.
My Pick: Baltimore

Philadelphia at Minnesota
Philadelphia probably did not expect to be here a few weeks ago, but they were playing very well at the end of the season and finished with a record of 9-6-1 and 2nd in the NFC East. Minnesota had a good second half of the season finishing with a 10-6 record and winning the NFC North by a game over the Bears. I think more people will pick the Eagles to win this game, but I like Minnesota for two reasons, 1) they have one of the best run defenses in the league, even without Pat Williams and 2) Adrian Peterson.
My Pick: Minnesota

My overall record after 17 weeks: 126-78

I only picked 7 out of 15 games correctly last week (Week 16), so it was not my best week

I only picked 7 out of 15 games correctly last week (Week 16), so it was not my best week as there were quite a few surprises. Below are my picks for the final week of the 2008 regular season.

I will try to post my playoff picks as well in the weeks to come.

Kansas City at Cincinnati
Kansas City have lost a lot of close games this year and come in with a record of 2-13, they have lost their last 3 games while Cincinnati are 3-11-1 overall and have won their last 2 games. KC have the 30th ranked run defense so I think Cincy will play conservatively on offense and run the ball a ton, I wouldn’t be surprised if Cedric Benson gets another 30 touches and the Bengals win by a field goal.
My Pick: Cincinnati

N.Y. Giants at Minnesota
The Giants come in at 12-3 overall and are coming off a big 34-28 overtime win over Carolina last week. Minnesota are 9-6 overall and have won 4 out of their last 5 games although they lost to Atlanta 24-17 last week. I predict another big day for both Brandon Jacobs and Derrick Ward even though Minnesota are ranked #1 against the run. The Giants win a close one and knock the Vikings out of the playoff picture.
My Pick: N.Y. Giants

Detroit at Green Bay
This is the final chance for Detroit to win a game this year, they have 1 more shot to avoid being the first team in NFL history to go 0-16. Green Bay are 5-10 overall and have lost their last 5 games, but they do not want to be the only team that loses to the Lions this season…my prediction is they won’t be. I expect Aaron Rodgers to throw for 300+ yards and a couple touchdowns.
My Pick: Green Bay

Cleveland at Pittsburgh
Cleveland come in with a 4-11 overall record and have lost their last 5 games while Pittsburgh are 11-4 and have won 4 out of their last 5. The Steelers will do what it takes to win, and probably crush, the Browns in this game as they want to head into the playoffs with some momentum after losing to Tennessee last week.
My Pick: Pittsburgh

New England at Buffalo
New England come to Buffalo with a 10-5 record and have won their last 3 games, the Bills are 7-8 overall and trying to finish at .500. I do not see Buffalo stopping New England’s passing game and the Patriots need to win to make the playoffs. I predict 300+ yards from Matt Cassel and a Pats win.
My Pick: New England

Tennessee at Indianapolis
The 13-2 Titans come to Indy to play the 11-4 Colts. The Colts have won 8 straight games but their last loss was to the Titans. I think Tennessee will be able to run the ball well against Indy’s defense in this game and keep the ball out of Peyton Manning’s hands enough to give them a close win.
My Pick: Tennessee

Oakland at Tampa Bay
Oakland come in at 4-11 overall and defeated Houston last week 27-16 while Tampa are 9-6 overall but have lost their last 3 games. I expect Tampa to win this game at home as they need to win to keep their playoff hopes alive. I do not think Jon Gruden will lose to his former team.
My Pick: Tampa Bay

Chicago at Houston
Chicago comes in at 9-6 overall and need to win in order to have a shot at making the playoffs while Houston are 7-8 and trying to finish their season with a .500 record. I think it will be a tough game for the Bears to win as Houston have so many weapons. Chicago must get a good game from Matt Forte on the ground to have a shot in my opinion. I think Houston’s offense will do enough to pull out a close win, I hope I’m wrong though.
My Pick: Houston

St. Louis at Atlanta
St. Louis are 2-13 overall and have lost their last 9 games, Atlanta have clinched a Wild Card spot and are 10-5 overall. Atlanta will not lose this game at home, Michael Turner will run all over them in the first half and I think Atlanta will start giving their starters a rest in the 2nd half as they will have a comfortable lead.
My Pick: Atlanta

Carolina at New Orleans
Carolina come in with a record of 11-4 and they need to win to clinch the AFC South division title. New Orleans are 8-7 overall and are coming off of last weeks 42-7 win over Detroit. Drew Brees needs 402 yards to break Dan Marino’s NFL record for passing yards in a season, I think Carolina will prevent this from happening. I like Carolina in this game by a touchdown.
My Pick: Carolina

Jacksonville at Baltimore
Jacksonville come in with a 5-10 record and have lost 4 out of their last 5 games including last weeks 31-24 loss to Indianapolis. Baltimore are 10-5 overall and have won 4 out of their last 5 games including last weeks 33-24 win over Dallas. I like Baltimore to win this game with relative ease, Baltimore’s stingy D will shut the Jags down all day and win 24-10 or something similar to that.
My Pick: Baltimore

Miami at N.Y. Jets
This is a HUGE game for both teams. Miami come in with a 10-5 record overall and have been playing extremely well winning their last 4 games while the Jets are 9-6 overall but have been struggling of late. Could this be Brett Favre’s last game? I think Miami looks like the stronger team at this point, but I am going to pick the Jets to win the game as #4 will do what it takes to win in the end.
My Pick: N.Y. Jets

Seattle at Arizona
The 4-11 Seahawks go to Arizona to play the 8-7 Cardinals. This is most likely Mike Holmgren’s last game as head coach of the Seahawks. I think Seattle will attempt to run the ball as much as possible behind Maurice Morris and win a close game, Arizona will win the AFC West with a record of 8-8 and little momentum heading into the playoffs.
My Pick: Seattle

Washington at San Francisco
Washington head into their final game of the season with a record of 8-7 against the 6-9 San Francisco 49ers. I love what I hear and see from new SF interim head coach Mike Singletary, I think he gets his team up to play in this game and they win by a field goal in the 4th quarter. I think people will be excited in the off season about the 49ers as they name Mike Singletary head coach and give him a multi-year deal.
My Pick: San Francisco

Dallas at Philadelphia
Playoffs are on the line for both teams in this game. Dallas come in at 9-6 overall and were beaten by Baltimore last week 33-24 while Philadelphia are 8-6-1 overall and lost to Washington last week 10-3. I think Dallas wins as Tony Romo has a solid game and tosses a few TDs, final score will be 31-24 or 28-17 Dallas.
My Pick: Dallas

Denver at San Diego
The winner of this game wins the AFC West, so this is a monster of a game for both teams. Denver currently have the division lead with a record of 8-7 while San Diego are 7-8 overall but have won their last 3 games behind great play from quarterback Philip Rivers. Denver do not have a defense that is good enough to get them far in the playoffs and I think it will be their defense that hurt them in this game. I think the Chargers get another big game from Rivers and Tomlinson gets in the end zone at least once in this one as well.
My Pick: San Diego

My overall record after 16 weeks: 116-72

I picked 10 out of 15 games correctly last week (Week 15), not bad at all!

Below are my picks for Week 16 except for the Thursday, December 18th game between Indianapolis and Jacksonville in which the Colts won 31-24.

Baltimore at Dallas
Both teams come in with 9-5 records, Baltimore lost a tough one last week to Pittsburgh 13-9 and Dallas defeated the N.Y. Giants 20-8 in their last game. I predict a close game that will be decided by 7 points or less, I think Dallas will pull it out in the end.
My Pick: Dallas

Cincinnati at Cleveland
The Battle of Ohio 2008 part 2. Two bad teams go at it in this game, my Bengals come in with a record of 2-11-1 but got their second win of the season last week against Washington winning by a score of 20-13. Cleveland are 4-10 overall but have lost 4 straight games and were spanked on Monday night last week by the Eagles 30-10. I think the Bengals pull this one out with some big plays from the defense and even the season series at 1-1.
My Pick: Cincinnati

Pittsburgh at Tennessee
The two best teams in the AFC face each other here. Pittsburgh ate 11-3 overall and have won their last 5 games while Tennessee are 12-2 overall but lost their last game against Houston 13-12. I would pick Tennessee to win this game, however they are playing without their best defensive player in Albert Haynesworth, so I think Pittsburgh will squeak by with the win yet again. I hope I’m wrong.
My Pick: Pittsburgh

San Diego at Tampa Bay
San Diego have been a major disappointment this year, they come in with a 6-8 overall record including last weeks 22-21 win over Kansas City. Tampa are 9-5 overall but have lost their last 2 games including last weeks 13-10 loss to Atlanta. I like Tampa in this game by double digits.
My Pick: Tampa Bay

New Orleans at Detroit
New Orleans come in at 7-7 overall, they lost to da’ Bears last week 27-24, and most of you know that Detroit are still looking for that elusive first win of the season to get them going…or, well maybe to just not go 0-16. I think Detroit will play tough and it will be close for the first few quarters, it seems like they have kept it close the past several games but found a way to lose in the end…I think that happens again this week.
My Pick: New Orleans

Arizona at New England
Arizona come in with a record of 8-6 and have actually clinched their division and are in the playoffs with that record. New England are 9-5 overall and in a tight division race. I think the Patriots take care of business at home and go to 10-5.
My Pick: New England

Miami at Kansas City
Miami come in at 9-5 overall and need to win this game against KC, in my opinion, to stay in the playoff/division hunt. I like their chances. Kansas City are 2-12 overall, have lost their past 2 games, and will lose this game because the Dolphins will run all over their faces.
My Pick: Miami

San Francisco at St. Louis
San Fran are 5-9 overall, they lost last week against Miami 14-9, while St. Louis are 2-12 overall and have lost their last 8 games…they aren’t looking too hot right now. I think the 49ers will win, I really like coach Mike Singletary and he seems to have the team playing with a toughness that was missing before he took over.
My Pick: San Francisco

Buffalo at Denver
Buffalo are 6-8 overall and have lost 4 out of their last 5 games while Denver come in with a record of 8-6 but were pounded by Carolina last week 30-10. I think both teams will put some points on the board in this one, but I think Buffalo will somehow pull off the upset. Denver’s defense give up big plays and I think they will lose 35-31 or 38-35, something like that.
My Pick: Buffalo

N.Y. Jets at Seattle
The Jets come to Seattle with a record of 9-5, they defeated Buffalo at home last week 31-27. Seattle are 3-11 overall, have lost 4 out of their last 5, but defeated St. Louis last week 23-20. I think the Jets will play well defensively and shut down Seattle. I think Favre will throw a TD or two and the Jets win 20-7.
My Pick: N.Y. Jets

Houston at Oakland
Houston have been rolling of late, they are 7-7 overall and have won their last 4 games, they upset Tennessee last week 13-12. Oakland on the other hand have been struggling for some time, they are 3-11 overall and have lost their last 3. No big surprises in this one, Houston’s offense lights it up, big plays from Andre Johnson and Steve Slaton mean Houston win big.
My Pick: Houston

Atlanta at Minnesota
This should be a good game! Both teams have records of 9-5. Minnesota have won their last 4 games including last weeks big 35-14 win over Arizona. Atlanta squeaked by Tampa last week 13-10. It’s a tough game to pick because both teams can run the ball & explode on offense and both teams have solid defenses. I give Minnesota the edge in this game because I think AP will have a big game at home and will be the difference maker.
My Pick: Minnesota

Philadelphia at Washington
Philadelphia come in at 8-5-1 overall and have won 3 straight while Washington are 7-7 and have lost 3 straight. Since Washington lost to the Bengals last week I really can’t see them being good enough to beat a hot Eagles team.
My Pick: Philadelphia

Carolina at N.Y. Giants
Two division leaders go at it in this game, and both teams also have 11-3 records. Carolina have won their last 3 games and their offense has been playing great behind their two young running backs. If Brandon Jacobs plays for the Giants I think this will be a close game, if not, I think Carolina wins in NY.
My Pick: Carolina

Green Bay at Chicago
Green Bay are 5-9 overall and have lost 4 straight games while Chicago are 8-6 overall and need to win to keep their playoff hopes alive. The Bears need to win this, they can’t let Green Bay gain the sweep and win both games this year, they are the better team and I think they will win. It’s time for Devin Hester to return a kick.
My Pick: Chicago

My overall record after 15 weeks: 109-64

I did not make my picks last week (Week 14) and the week before (Week 13) I chose the winner

I did not make my picks last week (Week 14) and the week before (Week 13) I chose the winner of 7 games correctly (out of 13 total games).

Below are my picks for Week 15 except for the Thursday, December 11th game between New Orleans and Chicago.

Tampa Bay at Atlanta
This is a huge divisional game. Tampa come in with a 9-4 record overall but are coming off a Monday night loss to Carolina last week 38-23. Atlanta are 8-5 overall but lost their game last week against New Orleans 29-25. Tampa have a strong defense and Atlanta have a very exciting offense behind rookie QB Matt Ryan and RB Michael Turner. I think this game could go either way but I’ll go with Atlanta at home coming out with a close victory.
My Pick: Atlanta

Washington at Cincinnati
Washington come in with a 7-6 record and need to win to keep their Wild Card playoff hopes alive, while Cincinnati are 1-11-1 overall and I’d like to see them at least compete in this game but either way they will lose. Cincy have lost their last two games by scores of 34-3 and 35-3, it wouldn’t be surprising if they lost this week by a score of 36-3.
My Pick: Washington

Tennessee at Houston
Tennessee come to Houston with an NFL best 12-1 record and have already clinched the AFC South title, last week the Titans spanked Cleveland 28-9. Houston have a record of 6-7 overall but have been playing well of late, they have won their past 3 games including last weeks 24-21 victory at Green Bay. I think this will be a close game, and I would not be shocked if Houston pulled off an upset.
My Pick: Tennessee

Green Bay at Jacksonville
Green Bay have a record of 5-8 and lost to Houston last week at home 24-21 while Jacksonville are 4-9 overall and lost to Chicago last week 23-10. I can see Green Bay getting enough offensive production to get a win here on the road, but I can also see Jacksonville running all over Green Bay since they have had problems stopping the run. I’m going to with the Packers on the road.
My Pick: Green Bay

San Francisco at Miami
Both teams have been playing well of late and have won their past 2 games. San Francisco are 5-8 overall and upset the N.Y. Jets last week 24-14 while Miami are 8-5 overall and beat Buffalo 16-3 last week. Miami need the win to keep pace with the tight race in the AFC East, I think they will get it.
My Pick: Miami

Seattle at St. Louis
I’m not going to lie, I have little desire to watch this game. Both teams are 2-11 overall, Seattle has lost 6 straight games and St. Louis has lost 7 games in a row. I think Seattle will win this game, I think they have a slightly better team all around.
My Pick: Seattle

Buffalo at N.Y. Jets
Buffalo come in with a 6-7 record and have lost 2 straight and the Jets come in with an 8-5 record but they have also lost 2 straight games. With little doubt I think the Jets will win, Buffalo have not been playing well on offense since Trent Edwards got hurt and the Jets need to win to keep up with the division race.
My Pick: N.Y. Jets

San Diego at Kansas City
San Diego come in at 5-8 overall and crushed Oakland last week 34-7 while Kansas City have a record of 2-11 and lost to Denver 24-17 last week. I like San Diego’s chances of blowing out the Chiefs, but I think they will win regardless.
My Pick: San Diego

Detroit at Indianapolis
Detroit, poor Detroit, they have lost their last 13 games of the season, and their have only been 13 games played this season. Indianapolis have a 9-4 record and have won their last 6 games. Peyton Manning will throw 2-3 TDs and Indy will tack on a few FGs to win this game by a score such as 23-7 or 27-10…something like that.
My Pick: Indianapolis

Minnesota at Arizona
This will be an interesting game I think. Minnesota have a strong run defense but are much weaker against the pass, while Arizona have a high powered passing attack but the worst running game on offense. Both teams are 8-5 overall, although Minnesota has won 3 straight. I think this game could turn into a shootout, Minnesota will need to run the ball well and control the game if they hope to win. I think Arizona will win a close one.
My Pick: Arizona

Pittsburgh at Baltimore
Pittsburgh come in with a record of 10-3 overall while Baltimore come in at 9-4…blah blah blah. This is a big game for both teams. I do not care much who wins. I dislike Baltimore less and they are at home and I think they will win.
My Pick: Baltimore

Denver at Carolina
Denver are 8-5 overall and are currently in first place in the AFC West while Carolina are 10-3 and also in first place in the NFC South. I believe Carolina are the better team, they are at home, and I think DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart will run all over Denver.
My Pick: Carolina

New England at Oakland
New England are 8-5 overall and are coming off of a 24-21 win over Seattle last week while Oakland are 3-10 and have lost 2 straight games including last weeks loss to San Diego 34-7. New England need to win to keep pace with the division race, they will find a way to win.
My Pick: New England

N.Y. Giants at Dallas
The Giants are 11-2 overall and have already clinched the division while Dallas come in at 8-5 and found a way to lose to the Steelers last week 20-13 despite playing well for most of the game and leading in the 4th quarter. I have a feeling Dallas are going to play well this week, despite off the field issues surrounding the team and also because the Giants will be without Brandon Jacobs.
My Pick: Dallas

Cleveland at Philadelphia
Cleveland are 4-9 overall and just aren’t that good (they have lost their last 3 games), while Philly are 7-5-1 and got a big 20-14 win last week over the Giants. Philly will win.
My Pick: Philadelphia

My overall record after 14 weeks: 99-59

My winning ways continued last week as I picked the winners in 10 out of 15 games correctly.

There were 3 games which took place this past Thursday (on Thanksgiving Day) and since I did not get my picks done on time I will have to skip those games for Week 13. Below are my picks for this week.

San Francisco at Buffalo
San Francisco are 3-8 overall after losing to Dallas last week 35-22 while Buffalo come in with a 6-5 record after beating Kansas City last week in a shootout 54-31. I think Trent Edwards will have another decent game throwing the ball this week and Lee Evans will get another 100 yard receiving game this week.
My Pick: Buffalo

Baltimore at Cincinnati
Baltimore are 7-4 overall after defeating Philadelphia 36-7 last week while Cincinnati are 1-9-1 overall after losing to Pittsburgh 27-10 last Sunday. The Bengals have the lowest ranked offense in the NFL at the moment and they will have a tough time putting points on the board against the Ravens. The Bengals also have 16 players on season-ending IR so they won’t come close in this one.
My Pick: Baltimore

Tampa at New Orleans
Tampa are 8-3 overall and tied with the Carolina Panthers for the NFC South Division lead, they have also won 4 out of their last 5 games after beating Detroit last week 38-20 while New Orleans are in last place in the division but have a 6-5 record after beating Green Bay last Monday night 51-29. This will be a close hard fought game, I like the Saints at home by less than a touchdown, 23-17 or something like that.
My Pick: New Orleans

N.Y. Giants at Washington
These two teams last played on opening day of the NFL and the Giants dominated the Redskins but Washington have looked much better since that first game. New York are 10-1 overall coming into this game and have won 6 straight games including last weeks 37-29 win over Arizona. Washington are 7-5 overall after winning in Seattle last week 20-17. I think the Giants are the best team in the NFL at the moment and so I think they win this game.
My Pick: N.Y. Giants

Miami at St. Louis
Miami are 6-5 overall but were beaten by New England 48-28 last week while St. Louis have a 2-9 record and have lost 5 straight games, Chicago killed them last week 27-3. I think Miami will rush for over 200 total yards in this game and win by at least 3 touchdowns on the road. Miami need this win to keep playoff hopes alive.
My Pick: Miami

Indianapolis at Cleveland
Indy come in with a 7-4 record and they have won 4 straight games while Cleveland are 4-7 overall after losing 16-6 to the Houston Texans last week. Everyone has been saying the Colts are just starting to get warmed up, and I agree as they have beaten some good teams their past few games including San Diego, Pittsburgh, and New England. The Colts will win.
My Pick: Indianapolis

Carolina at Green Bay
Carolina are 8-3 overall but lost to Atlanta last week 45-28 while Green Bay are 5-6 overall after losing to New Orleans last week 51-29 on Monday night. The Packers desperately need to win this game and I give them the edge at home, I think Aaron Rodgers will have a big game passing the ball and lead the Pack to a 3 point win.
My Pick: Green Bay

Atlanta at San Diego
Atlanta are 7-4 overall after beating Carolina 45-28 last week and San Diego are 4-7 after losing a close one at home 23-20 last week against Indianapolis. I like the Falcons to win in a high scoring yet close game. San Diego have not been running the ball as consistently as they used to and I think Atlanta’s exciting offense will be able to do what it takes to win.
My Pick: Atlanta

Denver at N.Y. Jets
Denver are leading the AFC West with 6-5 record but were beaten last week by the lowly Oakland Raiders 31-10 while the Jets are 8-3 overall and have won their last 5 games including last weeks huge 34-13 win against Tennessee. The Jets have been hot, they have Brett Favre, they are at home, and Denver’s secondary has not been playing well.
My Pick: N.Y. Jets

Pittsburgh at New England
Pittsburgh come in with an 8-3 overall record and they have won their past 2 games including last weeks 27-10 win over the Bengals while New England are 7-4 overall after getting a big win over Miami last week by a score of 48-28. This should be a great game, I’ll definitely be cheering for the Pats and I know they can win this game. I hope that they will, but I know that they can. The Steelers last 2 wins have come against the lowly Bengals and then they got a 1 point win at home against San Diego the week before, I think New England will be a much bigger challenge and they will win a close one at home.
My Pick: New England

Kansas City at Oakland
Two bad teams go at it in this game. Kansas City are 1-10 overall and have lost their last 7 games while Oakland are 3-8 but got a 31-10 surprise win against Denver last week. I think Oakland will win this game pretty easily actually, I think they will run all over the Chiefs behind Justin Fargas and Darren McFadden while the Chiefs will make too many mistakes on offense.
My Pick: Oakland

Chicago at Minnesota
This is a HUGE game for both teams as they both come in with 6-5 records and are at the top of the NFC North. I will be rooting for the Bears but I can see it going either way. I’ll give Minnesota the edge at home with Adrian Peterson having a decent game, I predict they win by a field goal in overtime.
My Pick: Minnesota

Jacksonville at Houston
Jacksonville come in with a 4-7 record overall after getting clobbered by Minnesota 30-12 last week and Houston are also 4-7 and got a win last week over Cleveland 16-6. Houston’s offense is fun to watch with Steve Slaton running the ball and Andre Johnson is probably the NFL’s most underrated receiver. I think Houston wins by a field goal at home.
My Pick: Houston

(15 games)

My overall record after 12 weeks: 92-53

I had a decent week last week as I picked 11 games correctly out of 15 total games. I do not think anyone predicted that the Eagles vs Bengals game would end up in a tie so that was definitely out of the ordinary. Below are my picks for week 12.

The Cincinnati Bengals and Pittsburgh Steelers played earlier this week on Thursday night and since I did not get my picks done on time I will have to skip this one game for Week 12.

Philadelphia at Baltimore
Baltimore come in with a 6-4 record but were crushed by the N.Y. Giants last week 30-10 while Philadelphia comes in with a 5-4-1 record after their game against Cincinnati ended in a tie at 13-13. McNabb needs to play better this week after throwing 3 interceptions last week against the Bengals and I think he will.
My Pick: Philadelphia

Chicago at St. Louis
Chicago are 5-5 overall but were beaten up by the Packers last week 37-3 and St. Louis are 2-8 overall and were spanked by the 49ers last week 35-16. I think the Bears will get back on track and Matt Forte will have a big game running the ball and catching balls out of the backfield.
My Pick: Chicago

N.Y. Jets at Tennessee
This is a tough one and should be an interesting game to watch. Tennessee come in as the only undefeated team in the NFL at 10-0 and defeated Jacksonville last week 24-14 in a game I had picked the Jags to win, the Jets are 7-3 overall but have won 4 straight games and defeated the Patriots last week 34-31 in New England. I am going against Tennessee once again, both teams have great defenses although Tennessee is much better against the pass, and both teams run the ball well, I think in the end Brett Favre will be difference maker.
My Pick: N.Y. Jets

New England at Miami
Both teams are 6-4 coming in but the Dolphins are the hotter team as they have won 4 straight games. Miami won last time they played against each other earlier in the season, and this should be a great game to watch. My gut tells me New England will win this, they have more experience and need this win to stay in the playoff hunt and divisional race.
My Pick: New England

Houston at Cleveland
The Browns are 4-6 overall and defeated Buffalo last week in a close game 29-27 while the Texans are 3-7, have lost 3 straight games including last weeks 33-27 loss to Indianapolis. I think Houston will end their losing streak this week and the Browns will lose a game they should win. Steve Slaton has been running the ball well for the Texans of late and I think he will have another big game against the Browns this week.
My Pick: Houston

Tampa Bay at Detroit
Tampa are 7-3 overall and beat the Vikings last week 19-13 while Detroit has the leagues worst record at 0-10. Will this be the week Detroit get their first win? My answer is no. Jeff Garcia will lead the Bucs to victory, he would be a nice fantasy play this week as well if someone needs a QB.
My Pick: Tampa Bay

Minnesota at Jacksonville
Minnesota are 5-5 overall after losing to Tampa last week 19-13 while Jacksonville are 4-6 after losing to Tennessee 24-14 last week. I like the Vikings in this game, Jacksonville are ranked 20th in the league defensively against the run while the Vikings are ranked 2nd in the league running the ball, I think Minnesota will win the time of possession battle and win a low scoring game.
My Pick: Minnesota

Buffalo at Kansas City
Buffalo are now in last place in the AFC East with a 5-5 record and they have now lost 4 straight games while Kansas City are in last place in the AFC West with a 1-9 record and a 6 game losing streak. I think Buffalo will win, Marshawn Lynch will have a big game running the ball and will score a couple TDs for the Bills.
My Pick: Buffalo

San Francisco at Dallas
Dallas are 6-4 overall coming in and they got a big win last week beating Washington 14-10 while San Francisco are 3-7 overall and defeated the lowly St. Louis Rams last week 35-16. I think this game will be close, but I like Dallas to win as Tony Romo will be more comfortable this week than he was last week and the 49ers are not that great against the pass, they have the 25th ranked pass defense. Marion Barber will score and Romo will play well.
My Pick: Dallas

Oakland at Denver
Oakland have lost 4 straight games and are 2-8 overall while Denver are 6-4 and are currently in first place in the AFC West. I think Denver have a lot of weapons offensively and I really do not see them losing at home. Oakland may be able to keep it close for a while but in the end Denver will win convincingly.
My Pick: Denver

Carolina at Atlanta
This should be a great game. Carolina are 8-2 overall after beating Detroit 31-22 last week, they have won 4 straight games and are in first place in the NFC South while Atlanta are 6-4 overall after losing a close game to Denver last week 24-20. This is a huge game for both teams and I really think it could go either way, I can see a high scoring game and both teams being able to run the ball well against each other. In the end I think Carolina will come out on top.
My Pick: Carolina

N.Y. Giants at Arizona
This is another interesting game. The Giants are 9-1 overall and have won 5 straight games including last weeks 30-10 win over Baltimore while Arizona are 7-3 overall and have won 3 straight games including last weeks 26-20 victory over Seattle. I would love to watch this game and see how it goes, Kurt Warner has thrown for over 300 yards in the past 3 or 4 games, last week he threw for 395 against Seattle and the Giants come in with the leagues best running game as they are averaging 172 yards on the ground per game. The Giants seem to be the strongest team in the NFC, and maybe the NFL, at the moment so I think they will win this one.
My Pick: N.Y. Giants

Washington at Seattle
Washington have a record of 6-4 after losing to Dallas last week 14-10 while Seattle are 2-8 overall and have lost 3 straight games after last weeks 26-20 loss to Arizona. Washington really need this win to keep up with the other teams in their division while Seattle are pretty much out of the playoffs at this point. I like the Redskins on the road.
My Pick: Washington

Indianapolis at San Diego
Indianapolis are 6-4 coming in after defeating Houston last week 33-27 while San Diego are 4-6 overall after losing to Pittsburgh last week by a weird score of 11-10. This is a must win game for San Diego in my opinion and a big game for the Colts as well as they are fighting to stay in the Wild Card race in the AFC as well. The Chargers are 3-1 at home this year and I think they will have the edge at home and will be playing with a bit more urgency. I’ll be pulling for the Colts but think San Diego come out with the win.
My Pick: San Diego

Green Bay at New Orleans
Both teams come in with 5-5 records and both won their games last week, Green Bay crushed the Bears 37-3 at home and New Orleans took care of Kansas City on the road 30-20. This should be a good Monday night match up with two of the more exciting offenses going at it. The Saints have the top passing attack in the NFL but Green Bay are ranked 3rd in the league against the pass and are only giving up 176 yards per game thru the air. I think both teams will be able to move the ball but I think Green Bay will win on the road by less than a touchdown, maybe a 34-31 or 38-35 final score, something like that.
My Pick: Green Bay

(15 games)

My overall record after 11 weeks: 82-48

Did you check out my picks last week (Week 10)? I picked 13 out of 14 games correctly and it

Did you check out my picks last week (Week 10)? I picked 13 out of 14 games correctly and it was definitely my best week ever making picks. Let’s see if I can stay on a roll this week! Below are my picks for Week 11.

The N.Y. Jets and New England Patriots played earlier this week on Thursday night and since I did not get my picks done on time I will have to skip this one game for Week 11.

Oakland at Miami
Miami are 5-4 and coming off a 21-19 victory over Seattle while Oakland are 2-7 overall and coming off a 17-6 loss to Carolina. I like Miami’s running game and think they will be able to keep doing what they have been doing against Oakland. I like Miami at home.
My Pick: Miami

Detroit at Carolina
Ok I really believe the Lions have the potential to go 0-16 this year. They were spanked last week by Jacksonville 38-14 and I expect more of the same this week. Carolina are 7-2 overall and should have no problem picking up win number 8 this week at home.
My Pick: Carolina

Chicago at Green Bay
Da Bears are 5-4 while the Packers are 4-5 overall. Both teams are coming off tough losses last week as the Bears lost to the undefeated Titans by a touchdown and Green Bay lost by 1 point to Minnesota. This should be a great hard-fought game. I’ll be rooting for the Bears and think they will pull out the win since Kyle Orton should be back at QB.
My Pick: Chicago

New Orleans at Kansas City
This could be an interesting game, I said could be, not it will be. The Chiefs are 1-8 overall while the Saints come in with a 4-5 record. It is tempting to pick Kansas City in this game and make it my upset pick of the week, but I think the Saints will be desperate for a win in this game and will find a way to win although I will not be surprised if it is a very close game.
My Pick: New Orleans

Baltimore at N.Y. Giants
This should be an excellent game! I like the Giants offense better and Baltimore may have the better D. Since the Giants are at home, and I just really don’t like Baltimore much, I am going with New York in this one.
My Pick: N.Y. Giants

Philadelphia at Cincinnati
I will start out by saying that I really really hope I am way off on this pick. My Bengals are coming off their bye week and won their first game of the season two weeks ago against Jacksonville to give them a 1-8 record coming in. The 5-4 Eagles come in after losing to the Giants last week 36-31. I think the Eagles defense is going to give Fitzpatrick a lot of problems and Cincy will find it hard to run the ball and I expect them to lose a tough one at home.
My Pick: Philadelphia

Minnesota at Tampa
This is a tough one to call. Minnesota are 5-4 overall and coming off a big win versus Green Bay last week and the Buccaneers are 6-3 overall and should be fresh after having their bye week last week. I give the Bucs the edge since they are at home and I think they have the better defense, but if the Vikings are able to get a few turnovers and AP has another big game running the ball Minnesota could take this one. I’m gonna go with my gut on this one.
My Pick: Tampa

Houston at Indianapolis
The Colts need to win this game to stay in the Wild Card race as it looks more & more like Tennessee is going to win the AFC South. Indy got a big win last week defeating the Steelers 24-20 while Houston were crushed by Baltimore 41-13. I think this game will be close but Peyton Manning will lead Indy to victory at home.
My Pick: Indianapolis

Denver at Atlanta
Two great offenses go at it in this game. I like Atlanta’s defense better and running game better, but I think Cutler has a lot of weapons and is extremely dangerous when he gets in a rythym throwing the ball. If Atlanta doesn’t turn the ball over I think they win.
My Pick: Atlanta

St. Louis at San Francisco
Both teams come in with 2-7 records, both teams are in the same division and both are not very good. I give the 49ers the edge since they are at home and also since it seems like the Rams get blown out more often.
My Pick: San Francisco

Arizona at Seattle
Arizona come in at 6-3 after getting a win on Monday night last week against San Francisco while Seattle are 2-7 after losing to the Dolphins last week 21-19. I actually think it will be a close game but I think Arizona will win by 3 or 7 points, maybe a final score like 27-24 or 28-21…something like that.
My Pick: Arizona

Tennessee at Jacksonville
This is it people! This is where I make my upset pick of the week. The Titans are 9-0, they have played exceptionally well this year with a solid defense, great running game, and with a QB not named Vince Young playing error free yet conservative football. Jacksonville are a good team, yes they were embarrased by my Bengals two weeks ago, but last week they got some frustration out by spanking Detroit, now what better way for them to prove they are still a contender this year than by defeating their division rivals at home. I think the Jags will upset the Titans by a field goal in the 4th quarter or in O.T.
My Pick: Jacksonville

San Diego at Pittsburgh
The Steelers come in with a 6-3 record after losing to the Colts at home last week 24-20, San Diego are 4-5 overall after beating Kansas City 20-19 last week. As much as I want the Steelers to lose as it brings me joy when they lose, I think they win it by a touchdown or less.
My Pick: Pittsburgh

Dallas at Washington
It’s hard to believe the Cowboys are in last place, but they are with a 5-4 record. The Redskins are 6-3 and playing well of late. Both teams should be fresh after both having their bye week last week. Dallas should have Tony Romo back starting at QB and RB Clinton Portis is questionable for Washington.
My Pick: Dallas

Cleveland at Buffalo
The Browns come in after losing to Denver at home last week 34-30 while Buffalo are 5-4 overall but lost in New England last week 20-10. I think Cleveland are going to play better the rest of the way with Brady Quinn at QB and even though I want Buffalo to win this game I am going with the Brownies.
My Pick: Cleveland

Week 10 Р13  correct and 1 incorrect. (14 games)
My overall record after 10 weeks: 71-44
