I've had that problem of not finding gas in the city I was in. When one of the various tropical storms/hurricanes of this season was on it's merry way towards Florida, Hollywood/Dania Beach area I was in was lacking gas EVERYWHERE. I couldn't believe it. I was staying at my friends house that night and in the morning woke up at 7am to go find gas and fill up both our cars. Luckily they replenished and I got it in the morning…but that was the first time I ever experienced a shortage.

I also think its worth noting that we have the opposite problem now in nashville with the price of gas tanking (no pun intended)

So I just stay home and/or ride a bike?!? What do I do, what do I do. I actually waited 35 min in line to fill up. As far as your 'other' argument… I liked this line the best: “I just want to see some hard evidence that a man made end is coming to a God created world.” I liked it because there will not be a manmade end… but a God made end… and until then “While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, winter and summer, and day and night shall not cease.”
