What To Do About NATHAN MALLON’S 2008 WEEK 10 NFL PICKS
I know I know, I’ve really slacked off with my weekly picks as I have not posted them the past 2 weeks (Weeks 8 and 9). Below are my picks for Week 10.
Denver at Cleveland
Could be a good close game, Brady Quinn getting his first start against Cutler and the Broncos. My Pick: Denver
New Orleans at Atlanta
I expect a shootout as both teams have the ability to get lots of offensive production, I give Atlanta the edge in this one at home as I like their defense a little better than the Saints’ D.
My Pick: Atlanta
Tennessee at Chicago
As much as I will be pulling for the Bears in this game I see Tennessee getting their 9th win of the season and keeping their perfect record for another week. I think it will be low scoring, maybe 17-14 or something like that. I think each team will get a few long drives that will eat up the clock.
My Pick: Tennessee
Jacksonville at Detroit
Jacksonville desperately need a win after losing to the Bengals last week. I am pretty sure Dante Culpepper will play QB for Detroit in this game and they will not win.
My Pick: Jacksonville
Seattle at Miami
I expect a low scoring affair in this game, although both teams have the ability to run the ball. I think it will come down to which team wins the turnover battle.
My Pick: Miami
Buffalo at New England
Buffalo started the season hot but have since come back down to earth a bit, while New England have been playing well and looking better with Matt Cassel at QB. I give New England the edge in this game because of their experience and because they are at home.
My Pick: New England
St. Louis at N.Y. Jets
I like the Jets defense and if Steven Jackson doesn’t play for the Rams I think the Jets win without much of a problem. If Jackson does play it could be an interesting game.
My Pick: N.Y. Jets
Green Bay at Minnesota
This is a big divisional game, both teams are 4-4 and anything less than the playoffs would be a major disappointment for either team. The Packers are coming off a close loss to Tennessee last week while Minnesota defeated the Texans by a touchdown. I predict Adrian Peterson will have a big game and the Vikings control the clock and play error free.
My Pick: Minnesota
Baltimore at Houston
I like Houston’s offense better than Baltimore’s but the Ravens have one of the best defenses in the league. Baltimore are coming off a 37-27 win against Cleveland last week while the Texans lost to the Vikings 21-28. If Baltimore get another big game from Ray Rice I think they win.
My Pick: Baltimore
Carolina at Oakland
The Panthers should be fresh and energized in this game as they are coming off their bye week. Oakland were shutout by the Atlanta Falcons 24-0 last week and I think they will struggle offensively against the Panthers once again.
My Pick: Carolina
Indianapolis at Pittsburgh
This should be a GREAT game, no one has to guess which team I will be rooting for (the Colts!). Manning will throw a few touchdowns and will win on the road, I hope.
My Pick: Indianapolis
Kansas City at San Diego
The Chargers are 3-5 and coming off their bye week, while the Chiefs are 1-7 after losing a close one to Tampa 27-30. This is a must win game for San Diego in my view and they are the better team.
My Pick: San Diego
N.Y. Giants at Philadelphia
This should be an excellent match-up. The Giants are 7-1 and Eagles are 5-3 and both teams are coming off dominating wins last week. I am going to go for the underdog in this one.
My Pick: Philadelphia
San Francisco at Arizona
The 49ers are coming off of a buy week and they currently have a 2-6 record while the Cardinals killed the Rams last week and are currently division leaders. I like the Cardinals high powered offense behind veteran QB Kurt Warner who is on pace to throw for over 4,800 yards this season.
My Pick: Arizona
Week 1 - 8 correct and 7 incorrect. (15 games)
Week 2 - 9 correct and 6 incorrect. (15 games)
Week 3 - 9 correct and 7 incorrect. (16 games)
Week 4 - 5 correct and 8 incorrect. (13 games)
Week 5 - 9 correct and 5 incorrect. (14 games)
Week 6 - 8 correct and 6 incorrect. (14 games)
Week 7 - 10 correct and 4 incorrect. (14 games)
Week 8 - Did not make picks.
Week 9 - Did not make picks.
My overall record after 9 weeks: 58-43
